The idea of our Alternative Wish List is that instead of big corporations benefitting from your Christmas present buying, the children in Thailand can benefit.
This year we have a small number of gifts focusing on disaster relief for the recent flooding in Thailand.
Here is how it works: |
1. You have a look at the list below, and decide on a present for your friend, relative or colleague.
2. Open the Online Order Form below, and fill in the form electronically. Click 'Save As' and save the form with your name as the file name, and email it to info@4lifethailand.org.
3. Click on the this link to Donate the total of the gifts you have purchased. Choose 'Gift List' from the 'I would like my donation to support...' drop-down box.
4. Once we have received your email and the donation has come through, we will send you a voucher and a card for the person you have bought the present for.

A 2 Hour Teaching Session, £5
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn to read. Help
nurture young minds and imaginations by providing staff for
small group learning of vital life skills such as counting and
writing. With more teachers, groups can be tailored to different
abilities and special needs. |
 |
Two Horse Riding Trips, £8
Seeing as we don’t have our own horses to ride(!), help pay for
these young cowboys to travel in our special mini-buses to two
horse riding lessons and be part of their adventure! Interacting
with animals is a lovely childhood experience and provides a
unique opportunity for our city kids.Yee-Hah! |
 |
Specialist Medical Care, £10
Disabled children, especially those who are wheelchair-bound,
often develop complications such as infections and bed sores.
Specialist medical care is very expensive in Thailand, so by
choosing this gift you will contribute to vital ongoing treatment
that these growing children need.
|
 |
Care Package for Parents of a Disabled Child, £20
Many of our CBR families live in remote and isolated places. For
just £20 one of our care workers can establish links with local
hospitals and access facilities they might not otherwise know
about, as well as introducing new families to parent support
groups. |
 |
Sensory Room Equipment, £15
Children with physical disabilities, behavioural problems or
learning difficulties all benefit from therapy using a sensory
room. The equipment needs frequent replacement due to
wear and tear so for £15 you can buy items like new lights,
colourful wedges and special music. |
 |
Running for the Bus... £45
We rely on a specially designed bus with a hydraulic lift to
transport our children around every day. We take them to
school, extra-curricular activities, appointments and outings.
Running vehicles is expensive and petrol costs are rising in
Thailand as well as the UK!
For £45 you can run the bus for a week and ensure that 60 children can get to
school and other activities which are essential for their development. |
 |
Trip of a Life Time £100
In Thailand there is limited support for families with disabled
children. A few times a year CCD hold camps over the weekend at
the seaside or in a national park. These involve camping, outdoor
activities, fun and relationship building. For £100 you can pay for
a whole family with a disabled child to go on a respite weekend. |
Disaster Relief for Victims of Recent Flooding in Thailand |

|
Ready, Steady, Cook! £3

as kitchen utensils and pots and pans. |

|
A Pot of Paint, £5
The flood waters have caused damage to our daycare centres
in the countryside, and the homes of many of our poor families
with disabled children. For just £5 you can buy a pot of paint to
restore the damaged rooms. |

|
Refurbish a Room, £120
For homes that need more than a lick of paint to bring them
back to normal, some refurbishment and renovation will be
required. Choose this gift and you can replace basic furniture
in a room - a stove and sink for the kitchen, or a basic bed and
wardrobe for a bedroom. |

The Manorom Project Appeal
| We have just launched our Manorom Project Appeal to open a daycare centre and vocational training centre in Manorom Province which is 195km North of Bangkok. CCD have been given use of the building by a charity called OMF who previously used it as a leprosy hospital. Thankfully, Leprosy is now scarce in Thailand so the hospital is no longer needed. |
 |
| We have exciting plans for the hospital building. We are planning to make is into a daycare centre to help hundreds of unreached disabled children in Manorom Province. These children will be able to receive the love and attention that they need; they will have specialist care, physiotherapy, occupational assessments and home visits to improve their standard of life at home, and we will also provide support networks for their parents. We also want to make one floor into a vocational training centre to equip disabled young people with transferable skills that they can use to get employment and gain independence. |
 |
The great news is that we already have the land and the building, we just need to raise £45,000 to refurbish and renovate the facilities, as well as carrying out research to identify the needs in the local area. This money also includes paying staff for 18 months to get the project off the ground.
Please give generously to this project - we will be improving the lives of hundreds of unreached children in the Northern State of Manorom.

Chilli for Charity
 |
Our new fundraising initiative called Chilli for Charity is coming at the end of January 08.
The idea is that you cook a delicious Thai meal for your friends and family, and then ask them to donate the money that they would have spent eating out at a Thai Restaurant. Thai food is renowned for being delicious, but also for being incredibly spicey - we are daring you to take on as much chilli as you can handle, in the name of charity! |
We will send you a Chilli for Charity fundraising pack which includes a recipe booklet and ideas for making the perfect evening, as well as a quiz on Thailand which you can play with your guests!
To order your pack please email us now! |
